Right Worshipful Brother Gotthardt grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Northridge High School. After High School, Brother Gotthardt worked at Delco Moraine Division of General Motors from 1967 to 1998.
In 1983, he was appointed by the United Auto Workers (U.A.W.) International Union as an Employee Assistance Counselor.
R.W.B. Gotthardt Masonic Career started on December 15, 1986, where he received his Master Mason Degree. In 1987 He was elected as Junior Deacon of West Milton Lodge, and progressed through the officers’ line and was installed as Worshipful Master of the Lodge on December 7, 1991.
He joined the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in 1987 and worked in various degrees. R.W.B. Gotthardt received all 32 Scottish Rite Degrees in November 2003.
After serving as Master he was elected Secretary in November 1992 and held that office till November 2016 and currently is Secretary again starting 2019.
R.W.B. Gotthardt was elected as President of the Masonic Squaremans Club, the oldest Masonic Club in General Motors in 1992.
Appointed and serves as District Representative for the Ohio Secretary Association in 1998.
In January 1999, R.W.B. Gotthardt built and maintains this website, the first Masonic Website in the Great Third District for West Milton Lodge.
R.W.B. Gotthardt has held several positions in the Lodge as Lodge Education Officer, Trustee, Endowment Committee, Finance Committee, Flag Committee, Grievance Committee, Investment Committee, and Ritual Committee.
In October 2000, R.W.B. Gotthardt was appointed as District Deputy Grand Master by Most Worshipful Brother Jack L. Allen, Grand Master of Mason in Ohio.
He was also appointed to serve on the Grand Lodge Committee on Education in 2003 and was appointed as Regional Education Officer for District 3 in 2004.
In 2008, to the present was appointed to the Grand Lodge Scholarship Committee as Chairman for the 3rd Masonic District.
In April 2002, R.W.B. Gotthardt was appointed by W.B. Steven J. Oliver, to the Miami Council Prince of Jerusalem line as Master of Ceremonies at the Valley of Dayton Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, where he progressed through the officer line, and now is a Past Sovereign Prince.
Ill:. M.W.B. Neil M. Smalley, Past Grand Master and Active for the Valley of Dayton AASR, elected R.W.B. Gotthardt to receive the 33° the highest of Scottish Rite Masonry. R.W.B. Gotthardt was Coronated a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33rd Degree in Chicago, Illinois on August 30, 2011.
In June 2009, R.W.B. Gotthardt was appointed as Masonic Trial Commissioner for District 3. In October 2011, R.W.B. Gotthardt was elected as Secretary of the year, by the Grand Lodge of Ohio.
In December 2014, R.W.B. Gotthardt was appointed District Membership Chairman of the Third District by the Grand Lodge of Ohio.
Other Masonic bodies R.W.B. Gotthardt is a member, Franklin Lodge No. 14. Sharon Chapter 132, Order of the Eastern Star, Franklin 24, Royal Arch Masons, is a life member of the Irish Council 67 Knight Masons, Alpha Council 97 Allied Masonic Degrees and is a Past Sovereign Master in 2011.
R.W.B. Gotthardt was commissioned a member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels in December 1992 by W.B. Howard L. DeHart.
R.W.B. Gotthardt is a Trustee at the First Baptist Church in Union, Ohio.
R.W.B. Gotthardt and wife Linda, reside in Englewood, Ohio.
